Principal Job Duties:

Participates as a team member on the Oklahoma County SoonerStart Early Intervention team to provide evaluation, assessment, and therapeutic intervention to children ages birth to three.  Performs hearing and Autism screenings, prepares and maintains confidential records of client services.  Ability to identify and explain communication disorders with caregivers and professionals and demonstrate techniques to enhance development in the child's natural occurring environments such as homes or daycares.  Knowledge of the pathology of communication disorders, phonetics, anatomy and physiology of speech and hearing function, and of diagnostic testing for pediatric special education services.  Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.

Other:

Position requires possible response to public health emergencies including, but not limited to, natural disasters, disease outbreaks, or catastrophic events.  The Oklahoma State Department of Health is tobacco free.  Employees are prohibited from using tobacco products throughout all indoor and outdoor areas of premises under the control of the Oklahoma State Department of Health, in all vehicles on those premises, and in state vehicles in use for OSDH business.  Applicants may be subject to a background check.
